Microsoft has started rolling out its recently updated Photos app for Windows 11 Insiders.
The app includes new WinUI 2.6 controls, new Mica effects and new photo views. The app will also be getting dark mode which will also be present throughout the system with the Windows 11 update, GizmoChina reports.
The app also supports extensions that can be downloaded from the Microsoft Store. Currently, the redesigned Photos app is only being rolled out to a select group of users.
Windows 11 will roll out to eligible devices as a free upgrade starting October 5.
A user can check for a device update to Windows 11 after October 5 by going to Settings > Windows Update and selecting Check for updates. (Also read: Wipro chairman announces return to office from Monday)
Windows 11 was introduced in July and has a cleaner look and layouts for clicking applications on the screen, more detailed widgets, a revamped Microsoft Store and support for Android apps.
Microsoft has already revealed the basic requirements for running Windows 11 on a PC. It needs a processor with two or more cores and a clock speed of 1 GHz or higher, along with 4 GB of RAM and a minimum of 64 GB of storage. The company recently announced that Windows 11 will officially support Intel Core X series, Xeon W series and Intel Core 7820HQ.
